I've lost a 12V 3200mA adapter, what does the 3200mA mean? Can I use another adapter from around the house?

Question: The adapter belongs to a fiber optic Christmas tree. I have several adapters around the house but, don't know which one would be safe or what AD, DC, watt, or mA to look for. I'm not even sure what kind of universal adapter would work.

Answer: The 3200 mA is the max current that the adapter can handle. If its a DC adapter you need to use a DC adapter if its an AC adapter then you need to use an AC adapter. 3200mA is 3.2 Amps which is a considerable amount of power for a decoration you might have trouble finding one that will fit the nothing else I know of uses this much power other then maybe a laptop also if there is polarity markings those have to be heeded as well they should look like this -------_(0+<---------
