Question: I want to get married in the temple and i have been reading that you must get sealed first and you can have you wedding a different day which of these is better? get sealed in private and then have the wedding publically or get married in public then get sealed in private or get sealed and then have the wedding outside the temple I am soo confused

Answer: Getting "Married" and "Sealed" is in itself the same thing when you do it in the temple. Although it does mean two separate things, some LDS people tend to use it interchangeably. When you get married in the temple, you are getting sealed to your fiancee and getting married to them at the same time. Since my family is not LDS, I got married and sealed in the temple, then we had a luncheon so they could join in on the fun. Unfortunately, you cannot get sealed first, then married publicly if you want to go that route. However, you can get married publicly, then you have to wait a year to get sealed. I do not understand why this is the rule, but talk more to your bishop to find the reasons behind it.
